Kay was desperate to learn to drive a bus, female driving instructors were needed, so it said in her local news paper. she had thought about it for quite some time. Kay's husband Jim was not sexist by any degree but understood how the average man perceived women drivers, so he many a time talked her out of it.

Kay was a sensitive woman and tended to take it to heart when she was talked about or insulted. her husband was concerned and only wanted her to understand that he had her best interests at heart. She was very defensive about female driving instructors and said that they do as good a job as any man, maybe even better. She wrote to the board of female driving instructors for an application form, they told her she needed a PSV and a clean driving license and would also need to be police checked.

With the application for female driving instructors came an information pack explaining what was required of her, she told Jim she had to complete four modules to gain a CPC license. Jim asked her how much it was going to set them back financially, 'Around four hundred pounds might do it' said Kay, 'Ill put in some extra hours in at work for a few weeks and then take some payed leave, which is well overdue, to do the training'.

Kay currently work as a Book keeper and did actually enjoy her work but unfortunately the wages were not as good as she would have liked them to be. it was a standard nine to five job. The last job she had was a cleaning job and the hours were on a rota, this gave her plenty of time to allow her to do the training coarse she needed to complete for her Book keeping qualification.

That was the time she still rode a scooter, it was only a little thing which did not have much room for carrying her shopping, so as soon as she got her first wage packet for her current job as a book keeper, she got in touch with an old friend from school, who was a driving instructor.

Kay was a quick learner and enjoyed gaining new skills especially if it meant that it increased her wage packet.

Well that was then, ten years have passed and Kay now runs a coach company of her own, she gets plenty of holidays and is a very happy woman.
